It is important for everyone on a jobsite to take the necessary steps to ensure the working environment is safe. It is impossible to foresee and prevent every workplace incident, however understanding, identifying, and, if possible, removing, situations which create potential safety risks can help prevent safety incidents. The United States Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, sets and enforces standards and provides training, outreach, education and other assistance to assure safe and healthy working conditions. OSHA’s website provides several helpful resources for learning more about workplace safety and best practices.
